In the Year 1988, Joseph P. Cacciatore, a young attorney fresh out of law school set his eyes on what is today commonly known as 2150 s. Canalport Ave in Chicago, Il. Now the home of Lacuna. What once housed of the worlds largest macaroni factory, Joseph had seen a vision for the warehouse shared with few. Many didn’t see what Joseph did; he saw potential for something great. It wasn’t until 1991 that Joseph closed on the building and with his determination and hard work, he was sure this building would one day be something more than a warehouse/factory in east Pilsen, it would become a “HIT FACTORY”. The transformation from warehouse to a trendy incubator for businesses began. Many years in the making has left us with what we call today LACUNA, Chicago’s premier artist work lofts. Like the late macaroni factory, LACUNA is also manufacturing goods, but this time around it’s not pasta, its ART. People often ask Joseph, what does the future hold for this building? He confidently replies, “if you look at what I did to this building in the past, you can only imagine what’s going to happen in the future.” – Joseph P. Cacciatore
